Clinical Interest for Patients
I have always been passionate about promoting reproductive health for all women. As director of the Special Contraception Clinic, I concentrate on safe and highly effective birth control for women with a variety of medical disorders, from lupus, to diabetes, to cystic fibrosis. We also excel at providing contraception for patients with other complex needs, such as adolescents or those with developmental disability. I provide in-office awake sterilization procedures, traditional sterilization in the OR, and management of miscarriage or abnormal pregnancy.

Care Philosophy
I believe that the health care that works for the patient is the one that is consistent with her beliefs, values, and needs, and recognize that reproductive health needs of women evolve over time.

Personal Interests
In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, reading, and biking with my husband and children.

Volunteer Activities
As a professional educator/clinician, I teach about Women's Health to community groups, at churches and synagogues, and to professional organizations of midwives, nurse practitioners and physicians. I am the Medical Consultant for the Family Planning Program of the Colorado Department of Public Health.

Information for Referring Providers

Clinical Interests for Referring Providers
I have always been passionate about promoting reproductive health for all women. As director of the Special Contraception Clinic, I concentrate on safe and highly effective contraception for women with a variety of medical disorders, such as lupus and other rheumatologic disorders, diabetes, cystic fibrosis, coagulation and thrombosis disorders, and cancer. We also excel at providing contraception for patients with other complex needs, including adolescents, the developmentally disabled, or morbidly obese. I provide in-office awake sterilization procedures, traditional sterilization in the OR, and management of miscarriage or abnormal pregnancy.

Research Interest for Referring Providers
My research interests are in ambivalence towards pregnancy and its effect on contraceptive use, adolescents and the use of long-acting contraceptives, long-acting contraception after pregnancy termination, and contraceptive decision-making in diabetics.
