Care Philosophy
Patients with immunodeficiency and allergic diseases often have complex medical needs and require long-term care. A good patient-provider relationship is crucial to achieve optimal outcomes. I have dedicated my career to provide evidence-based care for my patients and their families, which takes the individual needs of each patient and family into account.

Information for Referring Providers

Clinical Interests for Referring Providers
I am a board certified allergist and immunologist specializing in primary immunodeficiency diseases, mast cell activation disorders, and manifestations of atopy.

Research Interest for Referring Providers
Understanding the pathogenesis of atopic diseases has been a major research interest throughout my career, starting with studies of the natural history of insect sting allergy in children and mechanisms of steroid insensitivity in asthma. With a growing interest in food allergies and no curative therapy expected soon, I became one of the investigators of a study with the objective to assess the extent to which epigenetic mechanisms may contribute to the etiology and prevalence of atopic diseases with their early manifestation as atopic dermatitis and food allergies. In collaboration with experts in the field, I have pursued the exploration of mechanisms contributing to immune dysregulation in patient-focused studies with the overarching goal to individualize and optimize clinical care.
