Clinical Interest for Patients: My clinical interests include risk reduction and management of the complications of end-stage liver disease (variceal bleeding, ascites, encephalopathy and hepatocellular carcinoma) as well as the clinical evaluation and on-going care of liver transplant candidates and recipients.
Care Philosophy: I strive to provide the best care possible for my patients. I believe in treating a person as whole and that a commitment to a healthy lifestyle is one of the best allies to excellent medical care.
Personal Interests: In my spare time, I enjoy snowboarding, hiking, biking and time with family and friends.
Volunteer Activities: I am dedicated to improving public awareness of the critical shortage of lifesaving donor organs for transplantation. I work with local, regional and national organizations to improve both availability and access to this scarce resource.

My research efforts focus on exploring evidence-based improvements in recipient selection and organ allocation systems for liver transplantation. I conduct investigations of the manifestations and natural history of end stage liver disease, outcomes measures of liver transplantation, and medical ethics of organ transplantation.
