Clinical Interest for Patients
My clinical interests include the care of children and teens with congenital heart disease, and especially those with single ventricle heart conditions. I also spend time reading cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography) and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Care Philosophy
My approach is to help educate families and empower them to make informed decisions about their child's healthcare. I am lucky to be part of a multidisciplinary team that cares for children with single ventricle hearts, based on the unique needs of these kids and young adults. Our emphasis is on wellness - both of mind and body.

Personal Interests
Father of two great kids, Colorado native and ardent outdoorsman, waylaid English major.

Information for Referring Providers

Clinical Interests for Referring Providers
My clinical interests include the care of children with single ventricle heart disease at all stages of life. I am the co-director of the single ventricle care program and staff the infant single ventricle clinic, as well as out multidisciplinary clinic for children and teens who have had a Fontan operation. I spend much of my time performing and interpreting echocardiograms and cardiac MRI. I also find 3D printing the hearts of our patients a remarkable way to understand complex heart disease and plan interventions.

Research Interest for Referring Providers
My research interests include the evaluation of heart function in children with pulmonary hypertension, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, single ventricle heart disease, etc. I am also interested in the outcomes of our single ventricle population here at increased altitude. I have created a registry of patients who have undergone Fontan operation and are cared for at our center.
