Provider Expertise

Clinical Interest for Patients

My clinical interests include taking care of babies and children with seizures and epilepsy. This includes caring for children after a first-time seizure and also those with more difficult to control epilepsy.

Care Philosophy

It is important to truly listen to the questions and concerns of each patient and family. I then work together with parents and patients as a team. My goal is to help patients obtain their best quality of life.

Research & Grants

Research Interests for Patients

My research interests are focused on the field of epilepsy and include refractory status epilepticus, neonatal epilepsy, and epilepsy surgery. I am specifically interested in long-term outcomes related to each of these conditions. Currently, my primary research focus is new-onset refractory status epilepticus and febrile infection-related epilepsy syndrome (FIRES). These are rare conditions and I hope that through multi-center collaboration we can improve the recognition, treatment, and outcomes for patients with this type of epilepsy.
