Information for Referring Providers

Research Interest for Referring Providers
My research interests include studying the pathophysiology of insulin resistance particularly molecular mechanisms involved in adipose tissue inflammation and lipotoxicty associated with obesity and insulin resistance. I am currently investigating the effects of different PPAR ligands on adipose tissue inflammation, particularly the number and phenotype of macrophages resident in adipose tissue. In addition, I am interested in the role of adipose tissue hypoxia in the pathogenesis of insulin resistance.
