Clinical Interest for Patients
My clinical interests lie in difficult to treat epilepsies. These can be treated with either newer medications ( through drug trials), ketogenic diet, epilepsy surgery

Care Philosophy
I am here to serve those that are suffering. This philosophy should be applicable across all barriers- whether they are geographic, economic, cultural etc. It is very important to listen to another point of view in coming to a solution. Thus whenever I hear reasons for which a patient might be dis satisfied, I try to pinpoint the root cause for the same and address it. I believe in being the change that I want to see in this world. I like to lead by example. I feel that by being the best physician that I can be will lead to better care for my patients.

Personal Interests
I enjoy reading, cooking whole foods and exercising.

Volunteer Activities
I am very interested in bringing specialty health care to the rural and underserved populations and am personally committed to increasing telemedicine presence in the state

Public Speaking
I am the co chair of Childrens Hour at the American Epilepsy Society ( 2018-2020). I have spoken at the legislature in Iowa ( I was in Iowa till August 2016) representing the University of Iowa to advice about the current research on medical marijuana. I have been site PI on 3 trials involving Epidiolex. I have spoken on the topic at local venues and was also an invited speaker to the Hemispherotomy conference in July 2016 in CO.

Information for Referring Providers

Clinical Interests for Referring Providers
My clinical interests lie in medically intractable epilepsy, epileptic encephalopathies, ketogenic diet, telemedicine and neurophysiology. I am also involved in FDA approved pharmaceutical trials as I believe that these trials sometimes afford intractable patients a chance at trying medications that are yet not available to them in the market and therefore have another chance at bettering seizures.

Research Interest for Referring Providers
I am interested in clinical research as it relates to assessing health care costs. I am also involved in pharmaceutical trials
